‘I’m a failure’

At 13 I had trials for the Olympic triathlon team but didn't make it.
At 32 I joined the army reserves but left within a few months of being sworn in.
At 36 I left a Headteacher role 15 months after taking the job.
At 38 I am a coach yet how am I even credible when I've failed?

You write your own story.

Flip the narrative...

At 13 I was competing at a high level nationally and invited to trial for the Olympic triathlon team. I am so proud of what I achieved.

At 32 I decided to follow a childhood dream of joining the infantry; women were only allowed to join this regiment from 2018. I was one of the only women in the battalion and I documented my 18 month journey which the military used to promote to new candidates going through the assessment process. I left because I was offered the opportunity of Assistant Headteacher.

At 36 I recognised the signs of burn out and put my health and happiness first but I am so proud of becoming a Headteacher in the school I went to as a child. In the 15 months I was there I built strong relationships and made a positive difference to the school community.

At 38 I am perfectly imperfect and I'm proud of that. All these experiences have taught me more about myself and what is important to me. Each experience has built my resilience and empathy and made me who I am.
