Children & Young People Coaching

We want every young person to feel valued and inspired to write their own story

Every child is treated as the expert in their own life, and our role is to inspire confidence, resilience and growth to find solutions that work for them. We create a safe space where young people feel heard, valued and empowered to make choices that shape a positive future.

What is children & young people coaching?

Future focused

We look forward, helping children set achievable goals and take positive action. We provide practical tools and strategies to support with everyday challenges.

Informed by therapeutic practice

Our approach uses techniques such as active listening, insightful questioning, and evidence-based tasks rooted in positive psychology to support positive growth.

Solution and strengths based

We build on what’s working well for the young person and focus on solutions and possibilities rather than dwelling on problems.

“Amber has made such a positive difference to my daughter’s wellbeing, and we are truly grateful.”

FAQs

  • Counselling is a therapeutic process that helps individuals explore and understand emotional difficulties, past experiences, and mental health challenges. It often focuses on healing, processing emotions, and improving psychological well-being.

Coaching is a forward-focused, goal-oriented process that supports individuals in achieving personal or professional objectives. It emphasises growth, personal development and future possibilities, rather than exploring past trauma.

Coaching does not diagnose mental health conditions or delve into deeply rooted past experiences. If we believe a child would benefit from specialist mental health support, we will collaborate with qualified professionals or make an appropriate referral.

  • We work with children and young people aged 11 and above.

We focus on ages 11+ because this is a key stage in a child’s development. Around this age, children begin to experience big changes as they enter adolescence such as moving into secondary school, forming new friendships, and starting to think more about who they are. These years can bring exciting opportunities, but also challenges like stress, confidence dips, and feeling overwhelmed.

By offering support now, we give them tools that will benefit them for life - helping them feel understood, capable, and ready to thrive.
